Effects of Cancer

When my father was diagnosed with lung cancer, he underwent major surgery and lost one of his lungs. The operation saved his life, but it also brought many challenges. He often struggled with breathlessness, fatigue, and the frustration of not being able to do the things he once enjoyed with ease. Emotionally, it was a heavy journey too — adapting to a “new normal” while still trying to live life as fully as possible.

Watching him go through this made me even more aware of how important gentle, supportive care can be. Kinesiology cannot treat or cure cancer, but it can offer valuable support — whether someone is recovering from surgery, living with long-term effects, or going through treatments such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Sessions can help ease stress, calm the nervous system, support better sleep and energy, and provide a safe space for emotional release.

There was a time in my life when anxiety and stress felt like they were running the show, both physically and mentally. I’d wake up already feeling tense, my mind racing with everything I had to do and every way I thought I was falling short. I was in constant pain across my shoulders. Past experiences weighed heavily on me, and I felt stuck in survival mode—snapping at my partner, worrying constantly about my kids, overwhelmed by simple tasks, and carrying a deep sense of exhaustion I couldn’t shake. Even when I tried to relax, my body just wouldn’t let go of the tension.

Discovering kinesiology was like finally taking a deep breath after years of holding it in. The gentle muscle testing and balancing techniques helped me understand how much stress I was holding and gave my body a way to release it. Over time, I noticed I was calmer, sleeping better, and able to respond instead of react.
